PROGRAM FORMATS

We offer two types of programs Manual Material Handling and Office in four basic formats, each with highly customized features which identify job-specific hazards to the musculoskeletal system and establish job-specific techniques that can be immediately introduced into your workplace.

Format 1 - Full Client-Specific Customized Format

Our most comprehensive and highly individualized packaged format. It enables your organization to receive the full benefit of our expertise and reduce unnecessary and costly Workers' Compensation Claims resulting from workplace-related musculoskeletal disorders:

SEMINAR

  • Mary Krost & Associates staff consultant confers with you to assess your needs and determine your training goals.
  • Consultant visits your facilities/job locations to formulate training for your organization, capturing videos and still pictures of your employees as they perform their tasks, which are then analyzed. Next, body mechanics and ergonomic controls are developed tailored to the work environment and for the employee.
  • Consultant customizes group training and delivers it to your employees, a job-specific, site-specific injury prevention seminar aimed at implementing the controls. The interactive seminar incorporates critiques of workers' body mechanics, presenting the job-specific videotapes and still photos. Here, too, the consultant makes suggestions on how to make changes in the body mechanics as well as how to make ergonomic changes to the specific tasks and work sites. Also included in the seminar is a practice session of lifting using the Locked Spine Technique.

ON-SITE COACHING - Hazard Identification and Control

  • Consultant visits your work site to coach employees in productively employing the techniques learned in the seminar. This involves one-to-one, on-site follow-up, using a hand-held video camera with a self-contained screen to capture employees performing actual job tasks.
  • The consultant and the employee together review and analyze the just-taped video, recommending positive changes, reinforcing the techniques that have been learned, and demonstrating exercises to address ongoing symptoms.
