Additionally, in 2001 and 2002, Principal Consultant Mary Krost worked with the risk manager of a federation of 63 wastewater agencies across California. She conducted extensive field visits to the facilities and spent many days observing and interacting with maintenance & operations workers as well as collections workers She then videotaped the workers at their tasks. Mary Krost & Associates has recently released the media training program, Ergonomics and Injury Prevention Customized to the Wastewater Worker. It features an interactive ergonomics seminar, supplementary materials and optional on-site seminar, coaching, and ongoing follow-up. The emphasis of the Office Ergonomics program is on ergonomics (also called human factors engineering). Designed to identify hazardous conditions and reduce musculoskeletal injuries frequently occurring in the office environment , then improve the employee work settings and use of furniture and equipment particularly in the use of computers. Solutions are offered for ergonomic changes in posture, work methods, workstation and furniture design.
